I feel like someone should add something about the ability to buy more bank storage for items, the 600 gem cost, and if it's known the maximum amount of item space currently purchasable. The reason I believe this, is because I came here hoping to find that information and didn't, so I expect that in the future someone else might reasonably look
Yes. You get birthday presents on the character's birthday (every year on the day you created them) so you can get lots of expensive unlocks for nothing. In addition, Guild Wars 2 rewards playing a diverse range of professions. You CAN just play through on a single class, but your experience is so stunted.
I have 6 bank tabs, but the guild bank (created pre-HoT) helps a lot with extra materials. For bags, my preferred setup depends if it is WvW character or crafter. Toons that do farming would have the biggest bag slots. Starter backpack/safe box - food+utility/potions, useful bundles/boosters, mining tools. Unid greens/yellows if safe box.
The Guild Vault was a planned feature to implement shortly after the release of Factions. It was to be a buyable Guild hall service from the Guild Lord to store the guild's common items, but apparently dropped due to a server issue [1]. In an excerpt of a Gamespot article Designer James Phinney mentioned the Factions' Guild hall services and
So I just returned to GW2 as some free time opened up for me and I was wondering what is the best way to manage my bag and bank space. I've been playing the game on and off for while and never really understood what is valuable and worth keeping (I understand the basic item ranking system), and what I should get rid of.
It's just finding what works for you, and expanding bag size helps a lot. If you're wanting more bag space, it's 400 gems, or around 140-ish gold, for one, which for another 2 gold, you can get an 18-slot bag. To contrast, it'd take about 180g to get a 32-slot bag, increasing inventory size by only 14 comparatively.
In Guild Wars 2 salvaging is the most crucial way to avoid a clogged inventory. Standard merchants offer different levels of items including salvage kits depending on their level. The window below on the left shows what a standard merchant in a starting zone provides, the window on the right shows what is available from high level merchants one
This does seem to be one of those two development members not getting together before hand and implementing together. +1 here these should be added into collections, its not much space but still after all the hard work that was put in by the team to expand the collections details like this go a long way.
It really isn't. You aren't going to pick up a new mmo and know exactly how the inventory/ecosystem/economy works in 10 seconds. This game has a ton of QoL features for managing/organizing immense amounts of loot in a few seconds. Give it some time and actually T to understand the game you are playing, you can do it.
buy gems and purchase a bank slot start your own guild and Promoter-boost it to the point that you can afford the 50-slot bank The only difference here is that bank slots are account-bound, while guild bank space is server-bound. If you don't plan on server-hopping all that much, you get nearly double the bank space for your ~5 gold.
